We are pleased to announce that James Regnier, AIA, YAR CT, CPHC, has been honored with a 2026 AIA Connecticut Emerging Professionals Award.
As a Project Architect at Amenta Emma, James’s work reflects a commitment to design excellence, innovation, and service to the profession. He has played a key role in several complex projects, including the new School of Nursing building at University of Connecticut, while also advancing firmwide initiatives in material research, emerging technologies, and sustainable design. A Phius Certified Passive House Consultant, James is recognized for his ability to bring people together around new ideas and foster a collaborative design culture.
In addition to his professional practice, James serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Architecture at University of Hartford, and he was elected as the Young Architect Representative for AIA Connecticut for 2026–2027 and has contributed to national advocacy efforts through the Young Architects Forum.
A participant in the Connecticut Professionals’ Leadership Academy, he continues to advance the profession through leadership, education, and community engagement.
James represents a new generation of architects dedicated to shaping a stronger future for the built environment.
