Tim Reagen, AIA, CPHC, and Kate Ford, AIA, LEED AP, volunteered in the BSA Kindergarten program by visiting students at Cambridgeport School in March and April. The program partners with Boston and Cambridge Public Schools to integrate architectural concepts into their existing curriculum, with completed student projects showcased during a May exhibition.
Kate says of her experience, “Spending time with Mrs. Connelly’s kindergarten class was such a joy! Sharing my love for design and architecture with them felt especially meaningful, because I was about their age when I first discovered that same curiosity – building forts, drawing castles, and imagining spaces. It would be so special to me if even one of these students looks back on this experience as a spark that led them toward a creative path.”
By participating in programs like the BSA Kindergarten initiative, we can inspire students at a younger age who might not otherwise have access to knowledge of the profession, creating a more diverse pipeline of talent for the future.
