Amenta Emma Architects is proud to announce that Jenna McClure, AIA, NOMA, LEED AP, Principal and Director of Personnel, has been named a recipient of the AIA Connecticut Women in Architecture Award. Jenna will be one of two architects recognized with this honor at the AIA Connecticut Awards Gala on November 19, 2026, at the Hartford Marriott in Windsor, Connecticut.
The AIA Connecticut Women in Architecture Award recognizes licensed women architects who demonstrate exceptional design skills, advocate for equitable and sustainable practices, and make a measurable positive impact on the architectural profession and built environment. Jenna’s 23-year career exemplifies each of these criteria.
As Senior Project Manager and LEED Coordinator on award-winning projects including Housatonic Community College’s Lafayette Hall, the Western Connecticut State University Visual and Performing Arts Center, and the University of Connecticut School of Nursing, currently under construction, Jenna has consistently delivered higher education environments that are both technically rigorous and deeply responsive to the communities they serve.
In 2020, Jenna co-founded Amenta Emma’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (JEDI+B) committee, transforming the firm’s approach to hiring, mentorship, and professional development. That work has earned AIA Connecticut recognition for four consecutive years, including Awards of Excellence in both 2024 and 2025. As the firm’s first female Principal, she mentors emerging professionals through CREW Network, Professional Women in Construction CT, and ACE Mentoring, extending her impact well beyond our studio walls.
