Symmetry Partners – Interior

Glastonbury, Connecticut

This new Corporate Headquarters for a Financial Services Company in Glastonbury, CT, is a contemporary, adaptive re-use of a former Data Center. The approach to the renovation of the existing 40,000 sf facility is focused on the introduction of light to the otherwise window-less facility. The interior spaces are perimeter glazing and a large, central skylight. To mitigate the added heat gain and glare from the expansive new glazing, a brise-soleil was integrated with the exterior walls to provide shade. This façade screen not only provides thermal comfort, but with its playful pattern and sweeping forms, creates the lasting iconography of the building’s exterior. The interior of the project is designed to offer highly collaborative and flexible spaces for staff and visitors, while being finished with raw, industrial materials.

From the inception of the design, and all the way through the construction process, Michael Tyre and his team stayed on schedule, and on budget. The entire staff at Amenta Emma worked closely with us to help us achieve our goal, and quite honestly, the results have surpassed our expectations.
