The two-story Co-op facility provides space for several student service amenities including the campus bookstore, retail bank, cafe and outdoor gathering space. It is directly connected to the 1,500 car, six story parking structure, requiring the design to form a strong relationship between the two new structures. The design seeks to express the idea that the building, although a mercantile facility, is a major institutional structure and should have a public and civic presence on the exterior, interior and in the design of the outdoor space.
