January is National Mentoring Month, and we’re proud to highlight two of our volunteers, Anthony Kershaw, CPHC and Claudia Martinez Casado, LEED Green Associate, who work with students through the ACE Mentor Program of America in Hartford and Boston.

Claudia shares, “I’m impressed by the students’ ability to grasp different concepts and their willingness to step outside their comfort zone and learn new things.”

Anthony adds, “Volunteering lets us share our skills beyond the office and reconnect with why we chose this profession. It’s fulfilling to help students explore whether architecture and engineering are right for them.”

ACE connects students with professionals across architecture, construction, and engineering through hands-on projects and real-world guidance. And mentors like Anthony and Claudia help students build problem-solving skills, work collaboratively, and envision career paths they may not have previously considered
