2030 Challenge – Sustainable Architecture Awareness Series Part III

Beth Pearcy, AIA, CPCH, LEED AP BD+C, leader of Amenta Emma’s Sustainability team and co-chair of the BSA Committee on the Environment, will be sharing her knowledge and some of AE’s Sustainability practices throughout the month of April.

In 2020 Amenta Emma committed to reducing operational energy in our projects by signing on to the 2030 Challenge. The goal of this challenge is to make buildings carbon-neutral by 2030. We are excited to share that this year was our second-year reporting and this year we reported more than three times as many projects as the previous year! The reporting database provides useful metrics to help us understand where we stand compared to other 2030 signatories. We are committed to continuing to reduce our project energy use through various design techniques; stay tuned to hear more about how we are doing that in another post!
