Amenta Emma Architects is pleased to announce that Debra Seay, AIA, WELL AP, has been appointed as the firm’s new Workplace Studio Leader. Debra succeeds Tom Quarticelli, AIA, who has retired after 38 years of distinguished service to the firm.
“Debra’s promotion to lead our Workplace studio is a natural and well-deserved evolution of her career focus,” said Amenta Emma president, Michael Tyre. “Her deep experience in workplace and commercial interiors projects has been central to Amenta Emma’s success in this market. Known for her commitment to client advocacy and delivering inspired design solutions, we couldn’t be more excited to see Debra excel in her new role.”
When she joined the firm in 2016, Debra brought with her more than 14 years of experience on large-scale, complex projects and an exceptional level of innovation and leadership. A year into her tenure she earned a WELL accreditation and has since applied thoughtful and creative design approaches that use biophilia, natural light, and natural materials to enhance the user experience.
More recently, under Debra’s leadership, Amenta Emma’s Hartford and Boston offices achieved the prestigious WELL Equity Rating, making them among the first architecture offices in New England to receive this distinction. The rating recognizes organizations that create inclusive workplaces prioritizing health, well-being, and equitable practices.
In her new role, Debra will lead the Workplace Studio‘s strategic direction and continue to advance the firm’s commitment to creating innovative, healthy, and sustainable workplace environments that inspire and engage.
Debra says, “Leading our Workplace Studio is an incredible opportunity to expand our impact on how people experience their work environment. We’re not just designing spaces – we’re creating healthy, inclusive environments that inspire collaboration and support well-being.”
