UConn School of Nursing

The University of Connecticut, recognized as a leading public university, houses a top-tier nursing program committed to enhancing community health and beyond. The new School of Nursing building offers a unified environment that blends clinical education, research, and specialized simulation spaces, including high-fidelity clinical labs, behavioral research labs, and wet labs—each supporting the program’s research-focused objectives.

Designed for strategic growth, the building accommodates future expansion and includes flexible classrooms, collaborative areas, and a ground-floor makerspace for nursing students. Located near existing clinical and research spaces, the structure is composed of a brick core that harmonizes with the campus setting, complemented by a transparent elevated section symbolizing the forward-thinking spirit of UConn Nursing. A prominent glass feature aligns with a main pedestrian pathway, guiding visitors toward the entrance and revealing various learning areas. Native landscaping, green infrastructure for stormwater management, and open gathering spaces surround the building, creating a welcoming and environmentally sensitive exterior.

The building will be approximately 90,000 gross square feet and construction is planned to be substantially complete by Fall 2026. In partnership with Ayers Saint Gross – Design Architect.
