Waveny LifeCare Network identified the need to expand their rehabilitation services and modernize their facility’s main entrance to better serve patients and visitors. The existing Waveny Care Center requires additional capacity for short-term rehabilitation services while also needing an improved arrival experience that will set a more welcoming and therapeutic tone for all who enter the facility.
Amenta Emma is designing a comprehensive solution featuring a new state-of-the-art 30-bed short-term rehabilitation addition paired with a completely reimagined main entrance. The design centers on a dramatic curved terracotta and glass façade that will create a striking architectural statement while providing practical covered drop-off and pick-up areas. The patient experience will be elevated through evidence-based health and wellness design principles, including biophilic elements, warm natural materials, nature-inspired colors and patterns, expansive windows in every patient room, advanced mechanical systems for optimal thermal comfort, and spacious private accommodations with comfortable furnishings for both patients and visitors.
Upon completion, this transformative addition will enhance Waveny LifeCare Network’s ability to deliver exceptional rehabilitation services while creating a healing environment that supports patient recovery and family engagement. The new entrance will establish a welcoming first impression that reflects the organization’s commitment to quality care, while the thoughtfully designed rehabilitation wing will provide patients with an optimal setting for their recovery journey, ultimately improving patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
