Anthony Amenta

Anthony (Tony) Amenta is the President and co-founder of Amenta Emma Architects. He is also a design leader in the firm’s Community Studio and Director of New Business Development.

Since helping found the Hartford firm in 1985, Tony has led many significant, award-winning projects for public and private clients, including recent renovations at the United Technologies headquarters, the KAMAN Corporation campus, and the Connecticut State Office Building.

“I’m proud of the culture of commitment and responsiveness we have created here,” Tony says. “It is a culture committed to the quality of the end product: Its ability to fulfill its function, be socially responsible and to respond to its context appropriately and artfully.”

Tony holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame. In the professional community, he is a trustee of REFA Connecticut and a member of the ICSC, CNU, the Construction Institute and the AIA CT Design Committee. He previously served as a trustee for the West Hartford Housing Authority and chairman of the West Hartford Design Review Board. As a specialist in strategic and physical planning, Tony has lectured regionally and nationally on Project Planning, with a special interest in New Urbanism and what makes cities great.
