Myles Brown serves as a Principal-in-Charge of Amenta Emma’s Community Studio where he specializes in Senior Living and Multi-Family projects. He is also the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Since joining Amenta Emma in 1994, Myles has strived to create architecture that inspires its users, enhances its surroundings, and reflects the culture and reputation of the institutions it serves. Of the many projects he has guided to completion, he is most proud of the studio’s work on the Burnham Family Memory Care Community and Canaan Parish because of the positive impact the project had on the lives of its residents.
“I was inspired by my architect father Robert K. Brown, and the homes he designed and built for our family,” says Myles of his general approach to his work. “His designs focused heavily on connection to nature, light, openness, social connections, economy, and environmental responsibility.”
Myles holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Roger Williams University. Through continuing education, and as an active participant in LeadingAge, Myles stays current on New Urbanist Planning Principles, Design for Aging, and Sustainable Architecture. He serves on the Hill-Stead Museum Board of Governors and the Architecture Design Review Committee for the Town of Farmington.
