Amenta Emma Commits to Architecture 2030 Challenge

We are proud to announce that our firm has committed to the Architecture 2030 Challenge, a world-wide framework for rapidly transforming the built environment’s role in the production of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. With roughly 40% of the world’s annual GHG emissions being produced by buildings, the 2030 Challenge establishes an aggressive target of carbon-neutral building design as the new norm over the next 10 years. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has partnered with the 2030 Challenge to establish a series of simple metrics and standardized reporting to help firms in tracking their progress towards the 2030 GHG reduction goals. As part of this initiative, Amenta Emma is currently developing a comprehensive Sustainability Action Plan aimed as advancing our firm’s development of sustainable, resilient, equitable, and carbon-neutral buildings and communities.

As a firm who truly believes design matters, the Architecture 2030 Challenge supports our pursuit of design excellence by connecting it to building performance. We believe that you can no longer achieve outstanding design without outstanding performance. By making energy and environmental performance a firm priority, our work, and the services we provide to our clients, will rise to the challenge of creating inspiring and responsible spaces for all.
