Seniors are the population hit hardest by COVID-19, and our senior living studio has been working with nursing homes and other senior living communities to respond to this crisis with design improvements. Their work has been the subject of quite a bit of media coverage over the past month.
The New York Times took note of our redesign of a senior living client’s resident rooms to include 14 virus-fighting and loneliness-preventing features. This same project and client partnership was the subject of TV segments on News 12 Westchester and ABC7NY (along with cameos from a robot doctor we didn’t have anything to do with, but that is very cool).
In addition, WTNH News 8, the ABC affiliate in Connecticut, interviewed Amenta Emma Principal and head of our senior living studio Myles Brown about the future of senior living design. The story includes images from two of our projects (Thames Edge and Duncaster Retirement Community), and an interview with residents of a senior living community our team designed who share how a connection to nature has helped them through the pandemic.
