Amenta Emma is proud to mark the groundbreaking of a new 41,000 sf short-term inpatient rehabilitation facility for Waveny LifeCare Network in New Canaan, Connecticut. Designed in close collaboration with Waveny’s clinical teams, the two-story center will feature 30 private patient rooms, expanded inpatient and outpatient therapy services, dedicated education and training spaces, an interfaith chapel, and modern rehabilitation technology – including telemedicine capabilities and spaces designed to support family participation in recovery.
Once completed in Spring 2028, the facility will more than double Waveny’s private-room rehabilitation capacity and enable the organization to serve more than 400 additional patients annually. The project is part of Waveny’s “Build the Future of Care” campaign, a $15+ million philanthropic initiative aimed at expanding access to care, strengthening the regional healthcare workforce, and supporting residents who outlive their financial resources.
